The latest death toll has risen to over 2,800, with more than 2,600 injured since the weekend. Humanitarian needs vary according to the areas affected. Many traditional homes built of adobe and dry stone have been damaged or destroyed. People are still trapped under the rubble, particularly in the mountainous provinces of AL Haouz, Taroudant and Chichaoua. Hospitals are overwhelmed, while the number of injured is rising. They need to be treated as quickly as possible

Our team in Morocco is assessing the possibility of supporting local partners in physical and functional rehabilitation, mental health care and in providing basic needs to those affected.

Since 1993, HI has been present in Morocco, sharing its expertise with Moroccan organizations to promote the inclusion of people with disabilities in society, strengthen rehabilitation services, and improve the quality of life of migrant populations. Learn more

Humanitarian crisis in Gaza: Mitigating the catastrophic impact on persons with disabilities

HI publishes the report ‘Inclusive Humanitarian Action – Gaza’ on the need to strengthen inclusive humanitarian response in Gaza: Persons with disabilities are particularly affected by the devastating humanitarian crisis and face greater barriers to accessing humanitarian assistance than many others. HI, which specializes in supporting vulnerable people, including persons with disabilities, calls on humanitarian organizations and donors to adapt their activities to ensure that no person with disabilities is left behind in the Gaza Strip.
