Bamboo grows naturally in about twenty of the countries in which HI works. A historic symbol of our operations, bamboo is regularly used by our teams, particularly in Asia.

A magnitude 6.8 earthquake struck the Al-Haouz province of Morocco at around 11pm on Friday 8 September. HI has been present in the kingdom since 1993, and shows its support for Moroccans.

In March, I’ve had the opportunity to travel to Uganda, where Humanity & Inclusion leads an innovative project designed to help refugees with physical disabilities regain their mobility and autonomy. The 3D Petra project uses 3D-printing technology to produce custom-made orthoses and prostheses for refugees, while trained physiotherapists provide rehabilitation services.

Chue Por is the survivor of a cluster munition in which he lost his arm. With the support of HI, he has regained his mobility.

In September 2022, Hurricane Ian hit Cuba with winds of over 200km/h. HI is actively responding to the emergency and helping communities become more resilient.

Saly is 22 years old and lives in the Kolda region of Senegal. She is a peer educator working to raise the awareness of young people to sexual health and disability issues.

Istabraq Lazim Muhammed joined the HI clearance team in Salah al Din, Iraq, last April. She tells us her motivation.
