Following several weeks of clean-up operations, Humanity and Inclusion is now supporting vulnerable residents of Beira, Mozambique to repair and rebuild their homes.

While still in secondary school, Peter Kim, a young Laotian, lost his sight and both hands in a submunition explosion. Now an activist, he supports Humanity and Inclusion’s efforts to protect people from explosive remnants of war in Laos and around the world. We look at one man’s struggle to make the world a safer place. 

Humanity and Inclusion’s teams are clearing land in north-eastern Laos contaminated mainly by cluster munitions. 

Starting June 3, Humanity & Inclusion will have a presence at the Women Deliver 2019 Conference, which gathers more than 6,000 people every three years, and this year meets in Vancouver, Canada. This year’s conference focuses on “power, and how it can drive – or hinder – progress and change.”

The United Nations Security Council discusses the protection of civilians in armed conflict this week. A HI delegation is at the United Nations headquarters to convince States to commit themselves against bombing in populated areas. HI’s deminers are clearing mines in northern Lebanon, in an area contaminated during the 1975-1990 conflict. The aim is to remove the threat facing villagers. 

Since 2013, Rabih has worked as one of HI’s mine clearance experts in North Lebanon, in a region contaminated heavily by the 1975-1990 civil war.

Humanity and Inclusion has launched an inclusive education project in partnership with a local school in Gaza, in the Palestinian Territories. This initiative helps children with disabilities access an education. Mahmoud, who has cerebral palsy, is one of them.
