Actions in process
HI worked in Moldova with the aim of promoting a humanitarian response that is disability-inclusive and tailored to the needs of people with disabilities, focusing on the empowerment and capacity-building of national organisations of people with disabilities. These activities centred on analysing barriers to humanitarian aid and on accessibility work.
Between 2022 and 2023, HI also carried out activities in the areas of mental health support, psychosocial support and protection. This project aimed to improve existing services and support refugee populations and host communities in the face of the difficulties caused by the armed conflict between Ukraine and Russia. Furthermore, the organisation worked to build the capacity of healthcare workers and social workers in the field of mental health, and organised fundraising campaigns to improve living conditions for local people, providing items such as small space heaters, stationery and toys for children, etc.
