The event will be hosted by Joanne Vrakas, host and producer of CJAD 800's Weekends with Joanne Vrakas.

An eminent force in national and international politics, the Hon. Axworthy will address some of the most important political events of the last half-century, from the adoption of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms to the great debate on the Canada-U.S. Free Trade Agreement, to the global struggles to ban landmines and the creation of the International Criminal Court.
The event is organized in partnership with the Montreal Institute for Genocide and Human Rights Studies, The World Refugee & Migration Council and The Canadian International Council.

The Honourable Lloyd Axworthy
In the Foreign Affairs portfolio, he is known for his exceptional leadership and pivotal role in promoting international peace and security, particularly in the Ottawa Treaty, a ground-breaking treaty banning landmines. As a result of his political legacy, Canada continues to position itself globally as a strong advocate for the protection of civilians in armed conflict, whether through the Convention on Cluster Munitions (Oslo Convention) or the Political Declaration on Enhancing the Protection of Civilians from the Humanitarian Consequences of Explosive Weapons in Populated Areas (EWIPA).
