 Financial transparency

Where do our funds come from?

Our financial resources come from a variety of sources: public institutions, foundations and private companies, but above all generous Canadians who support us on a regular or ad hoc basis. We ensure that as much of our income as possible goes directly to our projects in the countries where we operate.

 How are our funds used?

We attach great importance to ensuring that the funds we receive are used as effectively as possible to implement our social mission worldwide.

The private donations entrusted to us are usually pooled, in order to maintain a high degree of flexibility and autonomy in our action, and thus best respond to the needs of the most vulnerable populations. These donations can be allocated to specific programs on request.

You can find out more about our donors and financial resources in our annual report.

 How are we audited?

Our annual accounts are audited by EY Canada. In addition, specific audits of our project expenditure are regularly commissioned by our financial backers. The 2023 financial statements were approved by the Annual General Assembly on June 12, 2024. These various controls, backed up by strict internal controls and procedures, ensure optimum management of the resources made available to us.

 International transparency

The International Aid Transparency Initiative (IATI) brings together donor and recipient countries, civil society organizations and experts. Their common goal is to improve aid transparency and increase its effectiveness in the fight against poverty.
