International humanitarian conference for the civilian population in Gaza 13 NGOs demand an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and Israel

Emergency
International

Today is the International Humanitarian Conference for the civilian population of Gaza, organized by France and 13 humanitarian, development and human rights organizations, reminding us of the urgent need for an immediate ceasefire to save human lives in Gaza, Israel and the West Bank.

Representatives of these 13 organisations are calling on Emmanuel Macron, the heads of state and the government and world leaders who will be present in Paris on Thursday 9 November to do everything in their power to bring about an immediate ceasefire; to take concrete measures to free the civilian hostages and protect all civilians; to guarantee the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza and respect for international humanitarian law.

#CeasefireNOW is supported by more than 700 organisations in 70 countries and over 820,000 people worldwide.

The organizations involved :

*Amnesty international, Action against Hunger, CCFD-Terre Solidaire, Handicap International - Humanity & Inclusion (HI), International Federation for Human Rights (FIDH), Doctors of the World, Doctors without Borders, Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC), Oxfam France, Platform of French NGOs for Palestine, Première Urgence Internationale (PUI), UOSSM-International and War Child UK.

Manuel Patrouillard, Global Managing Director, Handicap International - Humanity & Inclusion Federation: "Only with a ceasefire by all parties to the conflict can we begin to address the massive needs faced by civilians. The use of explosive weapons with immense destructive power is killing and injuring thousands of civilians and creating a humanitarian crisis on a staggering scale. The victims and survivors are in dire need of humanitarian assistance. The Paris humanitarian conference must mark a turning point in this humanitarian catastrophe and lead to concrete efforts to save lives. "
